BARKER'S BIRDS & HUNT SERVICES
BIRD & DUCK HUNTING IN SOUTHEAST MISSOURI

Welcome to Barker's Birds & Hunt Services. We offer quail, chukar, pheasant and duck hunting. We are located in Southeast Missouri on top of beautiful Crowley's Ridge near Campbell. See our prices and more about our birds below.
We began bird hunting services in 2003 and are licensed through the Missouri Department of Conservation. All hunters must abide by federal and state guidelines with regards to the hunting laws. We offer hunts on our property and have access to other nearby fields. The hunter purchases his birds and we place them accordingly. Most parties choose to place their birds in relationship to how many hunters are in their group.
We began offering duck hunting services in 2007 and have been successful in raising mallards. We offer a variety of duck hunting, whether it be walk-in, in a blind or pit, guided or unguided.
We are here to ensure your hunting experience is a successful and rewarding one. Whether you are using your own dogs or some of ours as guides, we aim to please. We have allowed parties to bring in campers for a longer stay and will assist in providing services for those with a disability. We want to customize your hunt to meet your wishes.

OUR BIRDS
We raise all birds on the premises
QUAIL-We initially began raising only Northern Bob White quail but added Wisconsin Jumbo Quail last year. Even though the jumbo quail are much larger in size, they still have an excellent flying ability. Patrons always comment on the succulent white meat flavor. We raise our own breeders and set eggs weekly for weekly hatching. We have a large metal barn in which we house the chicks and young birds. They are transferred to our outdoor flight pens at 12 weeks of age. An adult bird is considered anything over 16 weeks. We have a low mortality rate due to our having indoor facilities for the younger, more vulnerable birds. While the market for our quail is primarily for the hunting preserve, we also provide birds for field trials and dog trainers. In addition, we have a growing market for birds ready to eat. We are in the process of obtaining options for packaging and shipping our birds. All our gamebirds are excellent seasoned and smoked.
CHUKAR-The chukar partridge is not native to the United States but was introduced here in the 19th century from Europe, Asia, Africa and the Middle East. Several species of chukar have become "naturalized" in the western US and Hawaii. Hunters express extreme satisfaction in the chukar flight method. When flushed, the chukars shoot straight up like a rocket before taking off like a bullet. They're very sporty birds and very fast. The taste of chukar is much like that of a quail except "there's more if it."
PHEASANT-We raise Ringneck Pheasant which were introduced to the US from China in 1881. Since that time almost all states have attempted to establish ringnecks. There's nothing like the hearty cackle of a flushed rooster to get you warmed up on a cold day. We usually put pheasant out in pairs unless requested to do otherwise. These birds are favorites to end a hunt with. They are strong, fast flyers and can top off any hunting day.
